Bike Fort Collins is looking for volunteers interested in staffing a Water/Gator Aid Station at the Colorado Marathon in the early morning of Sunday May 4th , 2025 (www.comarathon.com).

Water/Gator Aid Station – West side of the Rock Tunnel
The Rock Tunnel is located on Highway 14 along the Poudre River about halfway between The Mishawaka and the turn off for Stove Prairie Road in an area known as The Narrows.

End Time: Approximately 8:30 am
We are the first aid station on the marathon route at approximately 2.5 miles from the start, so we are the earliest to be done. Also, we can drive back to Fort Collins via Stove Prairie road and do not have to wait on the runners in the canyon.
Details:
You’ll need to leave Fort Collins before 5:00 am to arrive by 5:30 am at the tunnel. There's a small area to park next to the road on the east side of the tunnel. Pull out before going thru the tunnel because we will be setting up the aid station on the west side. Check the weather forecast to dress accordingly. It can get cold and windy in the canyon.
Upon arrival, we will brief everyone on what to expect and how to prepare. We’ll have food grade gloves available, so hands don't get wet handling the water and electrolyte mix. Everything needed as far as water, tables, trash bags, cups pitchers will be there waiting for us. After the last runner passes, we will tear down everything, collect the used cups that are scattered on the road, bag up all the trash, and empty the water jugs. The electrolyte mixture is left in their coolers for pickup and disposal by the marathon support crew. There will be porta potties on site.
